In Field of Destiny a mother is murdered, leaving behind three young children, then she is reborn into a series of circumstances that all relate to her previous life. Patricia Sheehy does an amazing job of crafting the story that even depicts a time of transition between the two lifetimes. The reader is drawn to how the characters from one lifetime relate to those in another.

The basic story covers a time period from 1947 to 1985 and reflects racial unrest and other events during those years. Every choice Natalie makes seems to have an impact on future events, and once set in motion there’s no turning back. Friendships are betrayed; love is lost; answers are found.

Ms. Sheehy proves a master of characterization in this outstanding page-turner. She has created an exceptional book that will make the reader long to follow the adventures and spiritual growth of these characters though other lifetimes.
