10th ANNUAL MYSTERY CONTEST GUIDELINES

Deadline July 31 2008!!!

Take your best shot and submit a tough, exciting, thrilling, thickly plotted, pulse- pounding mystery novel for a shot at publication, publicity, and maybe the big dough!

Submit your complete, most powerful mystery manuscript for a grand prize that includes publication of your book in the Dark Oak Mystery imprint. Novels of all mystery genres, from police procedurals to amateur sleuths are eligible and will be judged by a select panel of Oak Tree editors and professional mystery writers.

For consideration, novels must be typed in a clean, no-frills, easy-to-read font, 12 pt, and double spaced on one side of 20 pound bonded white paper, more or less 85,000 words, pages numbered, unbound, and mailed in a manuscript box. Contest is open only to those authors who have not been published in the past 3 years.

OR if you are digitally inclined, you may submit via a WORD-compatible file attachment. In the transmittal email, advise payment method (snail mail or pay pal) so that we can do a match up, thus saving trees, transportation fuel and space in our already-crowded office.

Grand Prize Winner will receive a publishing contract with Oak Tree Press.

Second prize winner will receive a complete manuscript critique and analysis.

Third prize winner will enjoy a set of books selected from the Oak Tree Press line, valued at $100.

For proof of receipt of manuscript, send SASE. Entries will not be returned unless accompanied by SASE and adequate postage.
